Harmony Pets provides a fun and loving pet care experience for all your pets in the safety and security of your own home. You’ll no longer have to impose on family and friends uncertain of whether your pet will receive top-notch care and attention. You’ll no longer need to ask your pets to endure noisy and stressful boarding kennels or risk exposure to kennel-borne disease.

Our bonded and insured sitters share quality time with your pets in the comfort and safety of your own home and have long-standing experience with animals and carry animal First-Aid kits in case of an accident or emergency. 

The initial consultation takes place in your home at a time that is convenient for you, so you and your pet can get to know your sitter before starting services. This is the time to tell your sitter as much as possible about your pet and his/her routine and habits, medication schedule if any, dietary needs, and feeding/walking times. The more your pet sitter knows, the better he/she will be able to cater to your specifications. 

This is also the time to provide the following:

• Complete a Pet Profile for us to keep on file.

• Provide a copy of your pet’s veterinary/medical records.

• Give your pet sitter 2 sets of keys to your home that have been tested and are known to work: One set of the keys will be held by your pet sitter, and the second is locked in our office as a backup.

There is an Initial Registration fee. 

Pet sitting charges start at (Call For Price) a day for one visit a day for one price. Price varies according to number of pets, number of visits per day, and any special requirements. Please call the office for your custom pricing.

Overnight fee - Pet sitting overnight visit begins at 8 p.m. and

continues until 8 a.m. the next day. 

Pet Sitting Fee Policies  

• Checks are payable to Harmony Pets. There is a $25.00 fee for a returned check. All delinquent invoices over 30 days will be charged a 1.5% finance charge. Invoices 60 days old will incur administrative costs at $20.00 per hour and/or attorney fees in addition to the bill. Payment in full is expected at the time of your Initial Registration on all services.

Existing clients may pay by mailing payment prior to their departure to

Harmony Pets at: 1905 Grayslake Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20906. Your account is credited only when the office receives your payment, so please expedite payment by mailing it upon receipt.  

• We request a 48-hour advance cancellation notice on daily pet sits and walks; however, we will accept cancellations no later than 8:00 am the day scheduled. Any cancellations after that will continue to be billed.

• All holiday bookings must be made one month prior to Summer Holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's. Otherwise, plan on an increase of 10% to the total booking bill. Cancellations for the holidays are accepted one week prior to starting date with no charge. After that, you are charged a ee.

• Initial Registration: A one-time fee is charged for new client sign-ups. The sitter meets at the client's home. Client provides two sets of house keys, vaccination records, and detailed written instructions. Sitter will bring necessary forms that need to be fully completed at the interview. Duration: approximately 30 minutes. We require a 50% deposit on the full booking fee. The balance is due upon your return home.

Existing clients may schedule a meeting with their sitter, through the office, at the charge per meeting.

• Keys: There is a charge if you want the sitter to pick-up or return your keys in person, and a charge to return your keys by mail. (U.S. mail service charge)

• Special rates for Birds: 1 bird and for two or more birds - Call For Price

• Pet Transportation:  Pick up and delivery to and from your home to the veterinarian, groomer, kennel, etc. Minimum fee per hour/and a different fee per hour on holidays.

• Medication and Shots:  Call the office for your specific needs and fees.

Midday Dog Walks  

Harmony Pets observes the standard pet sitting policies with the following payment modifications for daily dog walking.

Payment for the first four weeks of Harmony Pets service is to be made at time of Initial Registration. Thereafter, payment for services is due upon receipt of monthly billing. Credit for cancellations will be applied on the following month’s invoice. Additional service as requested or weekend visits will be billed as pet sits and will be billed as well. 

New Harmony Pets Customers: We will make our greatest attempts to walk your dog at requested times. Noon is a very common request. Please be flexible with us and give us at least a two-hour window on when we can walk your dog due to conditions such as holidays, traffic jams, weather, and difficult sits, which may cause delays.

Less than three visits per week will be billed at our standard pet sitting rates. 

Dog Jog Fitness!

Intense workout for your high-energy pooch! This service is a 30-minute or 45-minute session, which may combine jogging, playtime and sports massage. During our consultation, we will gather information about your pup’s personality, her best sniff routes, and favorite toys. We will gladly feed and water your dog and provide treats as requested.
